I firmly believe that the best coaching is driven by the person being coached and not by the coach. I do not work to a set format. Instead, coaching with me is tailored for each individual.

I specialise in coaching Senior Executives and the Legal and other Professions. I have extensive experience in business, leadership and in working with leaders.

Through coaching, people have an opportunity to stand back and take stock. They can explore areas of development that are most important for them and their organisation. Whatever they decide to do, my role is entirely focused on the individual and helping that person reach their picture of success.

About Yvonne McLean

I am an Executive Coach with a wealth of experience of working within the Corporate Environment. I have worked with people of all ages and backgrounds, ranging from Senior Executives to junior staff.

I graduated with a B A Hons degree in Modern Languages from Oxford University. I then qualified as a lawyer and worked in law firms and in commerce for over 20 years as a lawyer.

I have worked as a senior Intellectual Property Litigation solicitor at Russell McVeagh and Chapman Tripp in New Zealand and at Linklaters and Richards Butler in the City of London.

I was the lead lawyer for Microsoft Limited in the UK and a member of its Executive Management team for seven and a half years before returning to New Zealand in late 2003.

Since returning to New Zealand, I decided to make a career change to enable me to build on my interest in developing people and create more balanced time for myself and my family commitments.

I am fully committed to ensuring that I deliver a professional coaching service to my clients. I have trained with the worlds leading coach training provider, Coach U, and am on the way to obtaining credentialling from the coaching professional body, The International Coach Federation. I subscribe to the ICFs Code of Ethics.

I am a Certified NLP Practitioner and a certified Professional Behaviour Analyst, using the DISC tool. I am also fully trained to deliver and coach within the Syzergy Dare to Care Programme.

I enjoy facing challenges and know what it takes to step out of our comfort zones. I am very adaptable and happy to embrace change.

I have a relaxed and empathetic coaching style. However, I am also not afraid to challenge my clients whenever necessary. My objective as a coach is to grow the individual I am coaching and to focus on helping each person achieve their successful outcomes.
